Different Methods Of Colon Cleansing

Colon cleansing can be a good way to rid the body of dangerous toxins that could lead to disease and cancer.  There are different methods of colon cleansing.  Some colon cleansing kits are available for home use while there are some colon cleansing treatments that need to be done in a clinic or doctor’s office by a trained colonic hydrotherapist.

Home colon cleansing treatments
There are many companies that make colon cleansing products for home use.  These home use products are typically gentler than other types of treatments.  The treatments often come with companion products such as nutrient supplements and probiotic supplements.  The home-cleansing treatments offer the easiest and safest way to cleanse the colon.

Home colon cleansing treatments often use herbal capsules that work to gently but effectively clear out the colon.  The capsules must be taken with adequate water.  A standard treatment may last a week to ten days.  Some products require several treatments to work fully.  Along with the colon cleansing capsules the user must also adhere to a diet that helps to keep the colon clean while taking the treatment.  This often includes eating small meals and eating a high fiber diet with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables.

Other home cleansing systems may involve colonic irrigation.  This is similar to an enema but is much more thorough.  This type of treatment uses warm water mixtures to gently irrigate the colon.  The disadvantage of this type of home treatment is that it is much more difficult to accomplish on your own.  You also do best with a special table that allows for ease of disposal during the process.  Home colonic irrigation kits are less expensive than having the treatment performed in a clinic.

Colon hydrotherapy or irrigation is typically a procedure performed at a clinic.  Warm water solution is pumped through the colon during the 30 to 45 minute procedure.  The colonic hydrotherapist helps to facilitate the treatment by performing massage to help the colon loosen any toxins.  They can also adjust the pressure and the amount of water that passes through the colon during the procedure.  These sessions are often more taxing on the body since they can process up to 35 gallons of water during a session.  These treatments are not recommended for those with weak systems and anyone considering this treatment should get prior clearance from their doctor.
